Via-Ferrata  is a cabled mountaineering path that you climb on fixed anchors, cables and ladders, or cross suspension bridges.  Two routes are set on Mt. Norquay.

Grotto Canyon Ice Walk

A short drive just outside Banff National Park, inside the Grotto Canyon, you actually walk on the frozen creek bed, through a narrow canyon, to a weeping ice waterfall.

You could easily see some ice climbers on the caynon wall, but you could easily miss the highlight of the ice walk- the ancient native pictographs, if it’s not pointed out to you.

Grotto Canyon is our family’s favor hiking trail in summer. We hike here almost every year. Kids will love it.
