Why Skiing in Banff Lake Louise Ski Resorts?

Banff Lake Louise Ski Resorts provide you with three of the world’s finest ski areas (Sunshine VillageMount NorquayLake Louise Mountain Resort) to choose from. This 7750-acre alpine paradise is so big that you could ski for a month and never take the same run twice. Therefore this ski paradise is a great destination for your ski vacation.

The long session ski resorts, which are very famous because of light, dry and powder snow, draw skiers, snowboarders and winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world. Even though, there are still far fewer people on the hills than in European ski resorts, therefore, you will have more chances to get in some fresh tracks, and more runs with shorter line-ups.

When you reach the top of Banff Lake Louise ski resorts, it is very hard to explain in words how incredible the views are up there.

The ski season usually begins around mid November, might open earlier depending on the weather. Sunshine Village is always the last to close, on the Victoria Day long weekend (late-May) with their Slush Cup event.  Lake Louise usually closes at the end of April or very beginning of May, while Mt. Norquay usually closes in mid-April.

The resorts receive over 30 feet of snow each season. All three also have snowboard terrain parks.

Mount Norquay is the local’s favorite. It takes above 5 minutes driving from Banff Avenue. If you do not want to spend whole day to ski, Mount Norquay is good place to go because it is ONLY resort to offer economically smart ski-by-the-hour deals so that you do not have to spend the entire day here to feel like you are getting money’s worth. Click here for more details…

Sunshine Village is the highest ski resort with the longest ski season in Canada. It locates 8 kilometers west of Banff Townsite at the end of Sunshine Road. The ski area is only accessed by gondola because it is ticked high in the alpine zone. The ski resort has a ski-in-out hotel, day lodge, ski school. We go there quite frequently because it is closer than Lake Louise for us to drive from Calgary. Click here for more details…

Lake Louise Ski Resort is the largest Canada’s single ski area with runs on four mountain faces and 4200 acres of terrain. It takes 35 minutes driving from Banff Townsite. We love the high varieties of runs. It was described as “most scenic resort” in Skiing magazine. Click here for more details…
