Rimrock Resort – A Very Classy Hotel
in Banff National Park
Rimrock Resort Hotel , a very classy resort, is located on the edge of Sulphur Mountain, it has tastefully integrated its stunning natural setting with a very fine lodge experience. It is very peace and quite.
I like the lobby with a giant marble fireplace, leather chairs, and huge windows offering views you can’t get in the penthouses of other hotels.
How to choose your room?
The hotel location gives spectacular views down the valley, and up towards Sulphur Mountain. If you want your room have great Bow Valley view, see if you can get a room from floor 5 or higher facing down the valley for the unobstructed views.
This resort is just across road from Hot Springs and walking distance to Banff Gondola. After coming back the hotel from a whole day outdoor activities, we just walk across road and soak in Upper Hot Springs.
Some people have complained about its location – around 3 kilometers from Banff townsite center, but I think the breathtaking view of Bow Valley and Mountains is absolutely worth the location.
If you do not want to drive, there is a great bus service that takes you into town and back for free with your room key as your ticket.
I was luck to work for one of oil and gas companies, who holds Christmas party in this Resort.
We had a really nice and big rooms with great view at floor 5.
We had breakfast and dinner in the primrose restaurant and we were very impressed with both the beauty of the restaurant as well as the view of the mountains. The food was very good and not overly expensive.
A friend of mine spent Christmas Eve in this Resort Hotel one year with her family. The big deal was the complementary dinner and drinks on Christmas Eve with Carolers and a Magic show that her children really loved. On next (Christmas) morning the hotel has a meet and greet with Santa. The parents get coffee, tea, hot chocolate & cake and the kids get wrapped presents given by Santa.
My friend told me that if you are ever in Banff over the Christmas season, Rimrock resort should be the place to stay. Each day they have a daily resort activity.
Rimrock resort vs. Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel
If you want to have the same view and luxury as Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, and less expensive (almost half price of Banff Spring hotel), this resort is the place to stay.
if you want to the luxury, lively environment, and money is not object, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is the place for you to stay.
