It never stops to amaze us, never stops us from exploring and discovering.

We are living in one of the Canadian Rockies Gateway Cities, Calgary – less than one and half hour driving distance to the heart of the National Park.

We buy the annual family national park pass every year so that we can drive there whenever we want to escape from big city life.

We not only sight see in the mountains, view wildlife and walk around the Town of Banff year around.

In Summer we:

• Hike in the woods, climb up the tree line of the Rocky Mountains.
• Paddle in the beautiful lakes surrounding by majestic mountains.
• Go water-rafting along the wild rivers.
• Rock-climbing on quality rock wall

In Winter we:

• Ski at heavenly powder ski resorts.
• Go snowshoeing, dog sledding and cross-country skiing in the woods.
• Skate and toboggan at Spray Meadows Ice Rink and Hill behind the Fairmont Springs Hotel, or skate inside walls of an ice castle on Lake Louise.
• Enjoy the ice sculpture contest and festival at Lake Louise when we are not so active.

At meal time, we eat at our favorite restaurants in the park.

After meals, we walk around the Banff townsite, and stop in unique art galleries and jewelry stores, which are packed with local artist’s special works.

Sometimes in the afternoon, we either take the gondola or hike up (depends on our mood and time in summer) to Sulphur Mountain to enjoy the spectacular view, have dinner up there and watch the sunset.

Most of the time we hike up and take the gondola down.

Every once in a while, we escaped from home at weekends or holidays to spend one or two nights in our favorite luxury Banff hotels / lodges and soak in the Upper Hot Springs.

We were so in love with this place. We had our wedding here. If you are planning a wedding or honeymoon, HERE is the great place to be.

What other exciting active adventure can you experience?

Besides our activities, you can go snowmobiling, ice climbing, mountain climbing, golfing and many other outdoor pursuits.

You are probably asking “What will we do traveling with little kids?”

No worries!

If you want to hike, there are lots easy hiking trails. The trail around Lake Louise shore is one of best and our favorite trails for families with young children where you can easily push the stroller.

If you are ski lover, your kids can stay in the daycare or ski school which each of the ski resort provides. So you are ready to go and enjoy your fresh powder black diamond runs!

There are also lots other activities and events available here which are good for everybody.
